Basketball Recap: Spring Valley Starts Season with Victory at Home

Spring Valley gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They breezed past the Chaparral Cowboys to the tune of 67-12. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-10.

Mi'Yana Stephens had an outrageously good game as she posted 18 points and six steals. Those 18 points gave her a new career-high. Ah'Lor Jackson was another key player, going 6-for-7 on her way to 13 points and four steals.

Coming up, Spring Valley will venture away from home to challenge Southeast Career Tech at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Chaparral, they will take on Pinecrest Academy Cadence at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
