Baseball Recap: Lafayette's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Saturday just wasn't the day for Lafayette's offense. They fell 5-0 to the Vianney Golden Griffins on Saturday. The Lancers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Griffins apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Lafayette's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-13. As for Vianney, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 33-1.

Lafayette and Vianney should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings. The Lancers will take on Rolla at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (19 vs. 92). Meanwhile, Vianney (ranked third) will meet Miller Career Academy (ranked 450th) at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
