Softball Recap: Taylor Gets the Win

Taylor's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They skirted past the Umatilla Bulldogs 13-11. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wildcats considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

The team relied heavily on Lacey Price, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Lane, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Taylor now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Umatilla, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.

Looking ahead, Taylor will challenge Atlantic at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Taylor has given up an average of 9.1 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. Umatilla will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Mount Dora at 7:00 p.m. on March 18th.
