Softball Recap: Hardin Northern Comes Up Short

Hardin Northern entered their match against Jackson Center on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Polar Bears lost 13-4 to the Tigers. The Polar Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Hardin Northern saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Catherine Overs, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Hardin Northern's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Jackson Center, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hardin Northern will head out to take on Waynesfield-Goshen at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Polar Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season. As for Jackson Center, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Fairlawn at 5:00 p.m. on the 21st.
