Basketball Game Preview: Lexington Senior Yellowjackets vs. Thomasville Bulldogs

The Lexington Senior Yellowjackets are headed away from home for the first time to challenge the Thomasville Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lexington Senior will be strutting in after a win while Thomasville will be coming in after a defeat.

Lexington Senior will bounce into Friday's contest after beating North Rowan, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Yellowjackets took down the Cavaliers 52-34 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Yellowjackets.

Lexington Senior relied on the efforts of Jordyn Dearmon, who posted 19 points, and Jayla Cowan, who had 17 points. Those 19 points gave Dearmon a new career-high. Leah Lal was another key player, putting up seven points.

Meanwhile, Thomasville played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 60-10 loss at the hands of Glenn. The game marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Thomasville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Lexington Senior, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Everything came up roses for Lexington Senior against Thomasville in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 51-9 win. Do the Yellowjackets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
