Volleyball Game Preview: Fenwick Friars vs. Oak Park-River Forest Huskies

The Fenwick Friars will head out to take on the Oak Park-River Forest Huskies at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Fenwick will bounce into Tuesday's match after beating Loyola Academy, who they had gone 1-6 against in their seven prior meetings. The Friars walked away with a 2-0 win over the Ramblers on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Friars.

The 2-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 27-25.

Fenwick's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from SOFIA GROSSMAN, who had three digs and two aces. What's more, GROSSMAN racked up 14 assists, the most she's had since back in September.

Meanwhile, Oak Park-River Forest beat Proviso West 2-0 on Monday.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Oak Park-River Forest took both sets by at least 15 points. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-10.

Fenwick's record now sits at 21-10. As for Oak Park-River Forest, their record is now 20-7.

Fenwick came up short against Oak Park-River Forest in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 2-0. Can the Friars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
