Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Desert Mountain walked away with it. They strolled past the Canyon View Jaguars with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 21-7. The victory was familiar territory for the Wolves, who have now won five contests in a row.

Desert Mountain's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Grant Garduno led the charge by throwing for 169 yards and a pair of TDs. What's more, Garduno racked up 116 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October. Desert Mountain also got a significant boost from Easton Conner, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 86 yards.

Desert Mountain's run defense was locked in: Canyon View could only muster 0.6 yards per carry. The team can thank Kaika Solomon for the heroic effort on defense: he. They're 3-2 when they shut down the run game so well.

Desert Mountain's defense also made the game a nightmare for the opposing QB, racking up nine sacks.
