Basketball Game Preview: Vestaburg Wolverines vs. Sacred Heart Academy Irish

Vestaburg is 2-8 against Sacred Heart Academy since February of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Vestaburg Wolverines will challenge the Sacred Heart Academy Irish at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Vestaburg took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 53-40 win over Breckenridge.

Meanwhile, Sacred Heart Academy came tearing into Saturday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 44.8 points), and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 70-36 victory over the Huskies. The Irish have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 games by 28 points or more this season.

Sacred Heart Academy's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.7 points over those games. As for Vestaburg, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.

Vestaburg was taken down by Sacred Heart Academy 69-37 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Vestaburg avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
