Springfield had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Lanphier Lions. The Senators have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions, too.
Springfield easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-17.
Rachel Becker paced Springfield's offense, picking up nine kills. Becker got some help from Addi Maddox and her seven assists. Lucy Ambrose controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.
Springfield didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Triad on the 29th. As for Lanphier, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Calvary on the 28th.
