Maine South is a perfect 4-0 against Highland Park since December of 2014 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Maine South Hawks will take on the Highland Park Giants at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Maine South picked up another tournament win on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Niles North 68-17. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Highland Park had no trouble coming through when it counted. They escaped with a win on Tuesday against Leyden by the margin of a single free throw, 50-49.

Maine South has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points over those games. As for Highland Park, their win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-8.

Everything came up roses for Maine South against Highland Park in their previous meeting back in March of 2021, as the team secured a 62-18 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Maine South since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
