Volleyball Recap: Bishop Watterson Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Lincoln

Bishop Watterson faced Lincoln in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Eagles took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in March.

Despite the defeat, Bishop Watterson saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jack Spiers had 11 digs.

With the loss, Bishop Watterson broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-4. As for Lincoln, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.

Bishop Watterson has already played their next game, a 3-2 win against New Albany on the 14th. As for Lincoln, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Dublin Jerome on the 12th.
