Volleyball Recap: Winters Starts Season with Defeat at Home + How To Watch

Winters unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Maxwell Panthers by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Winters sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 14-25, 25-17, 17-25, 15-12.

Lex White paced Winters' offense, picking up eight kills. White got some help from Idaly Lopez Sanchez and her 12 assists. Ava Muir-Vickrey controlled things from the service line, finishing with 13 aces.

Maxwell's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4.

Winters has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against St. Helena on the 21st. As for Maxwell, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Paradise Adventist Academy on the 21st.
