Volleyball Recap: Winters Starts Season with Loss at Home + How To Watch

Winters unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Maxwell Panthers by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Winters sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 14-25, 25-17, 17-25, 15-12.

When it comes to explaining why Winters lost, don't look at Ava Muir-Vickrey. Despite the final result, she had 12 aces and five kills. Another player making a difference was Lex White, who had eight kills and four aces.

Maxwell's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4.

Winters has already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against St. Helena on the 21st. As for Maxwell, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Paradise Adventist Academy on the 21st.
