Soccer Game Preview: El Reno vs. Bishop McGuinness

El Reno is 0-4 against Bishop McGuinness since May of 2016 but things could change on Wednesday. The Indians will take on the Fighting Irish at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

El Reno was handed a four-goal defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They never let Western Heights get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for El Reno as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Bishop McGuinness had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.3 goals) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They blew past the Eagles 11-0. Bishop McGuinness might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by three goals or more this season.

Bishop McGuinness' victory bumped their record up to 9-3-1. As for El Reno, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 5-6.

El Reno might still be hurting after the 7-0 loss they got from Bishop McGuinness when the teams last played back in March of 2023. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
