Recap: Expression Prep Academy Lions vs. Boyd County Lions

The Expression Prep Academy Lions suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Monday. They were dealt a 96-54 defeat at the hands of Boyd County. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Expression Prep Academy has scored all season.

When it comes to explaining why Expression Prep Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jackson Childers. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Childers hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Rasheed Morrison, who scored 12 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Expression Prep Academy and nudges their season record down to 9-7. As for Boyd County, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Expression Prep Academy on the road again on Tuesday and play against Fairview at 6:30 p.m. on January 30th. Fairview knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight contests -- so hopefully Expression Prep Academy likes a good challenge. As for Boyd County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Greenup County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Greenup County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kentucky Rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while Boyd County is ranked 19th).
