Football Game Preview: Tom Bean Tomcats vs. Axtell Longhorns + How To Watch

The Tom Bean Tomcats will square off against the Axtell Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Tom Bean comes in on three and Axtell on eight.

Tom Bean is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Bangs 38-12. Considering the Tomcats have won seven matchups by more than 25 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tom Bean to victory, but perhaps none more so than Donnie Hooten, who threw for 370 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.5% of his passes, and also punched in one rushing score. Hooten is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for four or more in each of the last three games he's played. Camden Stephens was in the mix as well, providing Tom Bean with two scores.

Tom Bean didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Maguire Poole and Brayden Bomar. Another thorn in Bangs' side was Dallas Peavey, who forced one fumble and made nine total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Axtell didn't have too much trouble with Cayuga on Thursday as they won 31-13. Given the Longhorns' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 146th, while the Wildcats are ranked 522nd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tom Bean's record now sits at 9-2. As for Axtell, their record is now 9-1.
