Basketball Recap: Jasper-Troupsburg Comes Up Short

If Jasper-Troupsburg was riding high fresh off their 83-28 takedown of Hammondsport last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Jasper-Troupsburg Wildcats took a 72-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bolivar-Richburg Wolverines on Wednesday. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolverines apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2020.

Despite the loss, Jasper-Troupsburg still got an impressive performance from Jim Ainsworth, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and ten boards. Ainsworth has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Landon Zver, who posted 15 points and six assists.

Jasper-Troupsburg now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Bolivar-Richburg, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-3.

Jasper-Troupsburg didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-58 defeat against Elba on the 11th. As for Bolivar-Richburg, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 63-44 loss against Fillmore on the 10th.
