Basketball Game Preview: Howard Tigers vs. Oldham-Ramona/R Rutland

The Howard Tigers will square off against the Oldham-Ramona/R Rutland at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Howard's favor as the squad sits on 11 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Oldham-Ramona/R has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

Last Friday, Howard humbled Ethan with a 58-31 victory. That looming 58-31 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Tigers yet this season.

Meanwhile, Oldham-Ramona/R lost 60-39 to Elkton/Lake Benton on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Rutland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 142nd, while the Elks are ranked 34th).

Howard has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points per game. As for Oldham-Ramona/R, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.
