Volleyball Game Preview: Walnut Hills Eagles vs. West Clermont Wolves

Walnut Hills is a perfect 8-0 against West Clermont since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Walnut Hills Eagles will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the West Clermont Wolves at 6:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Walnut Hills won the last time they faced Lebanon, and Benjamin Smith did his part to make sure it happened again. Walnut Hills was the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Lebanon on Tuesday with plenty of help from Smith, who had 26 assists and two aces. That's the most aces he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Walnut Hills took every set by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-14, 25-13.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for West Clermont, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They put the hurt on Kings with a sharp 3-0 victory on Tuesday.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant West Clermont was: they took every set by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-12, 25-14.

The win got West Clermont back to even at 1-1. As for Walnut Hills, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Everything went Walnut Hills' way against West Clermont in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Walnut Hills made off with a 3-0 win. Will Walnut Hills repeat their success, or does West Clermont have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
