Softball Game Preview: Williston Red Devils vs. Columbia Tigers

Williston is 6-1 against Columbia since March of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Red Devils will welcome the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Williston 4, Columbia 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Friday, Williston didn't have quite enough to beat Branford and fell 3-2. The Red Devils have struggled against the Buccaneers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Williston saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooklyn Bertrand, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double. Bertrand is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Dixie Adams also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Columbia had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came out on top against the Hurricanes by a score of 5-1.

Columbia's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Williston, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
