Basketball Recap: Platte County Takes a Loss

Platte County lost against Truman back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Platte County Pirates lost 79-56 to the Truman Patriots. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 253rd, while the Patriots are ranked 94th).

Platte County's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Truman, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Platte County will head out to face off against Belton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Truman, they will venture away from home to challenge Raytown at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Raytown knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 contests -- so hopefully Truman likes a good challenge.
