Basketball Game Preview: St. Agnes Academy Tigers vs. Nitro Wildcats

The St. Agnes Academy Tigers and the Nitro Wildcats will face off at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.

St. Agnes Academy is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Mars just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Fightin' Planets by a score of 40-38. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 355th in Texas, while the Fightin' Planets are ranked 41st in Pennsylvania).

Meanwhile, Nitro waltzed into their match on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Landsharks by a score of 54-44.

St. Agnes Academy better keep an eye on Natalie Smith. She was instrumental in Nitro's win, going 8 for 13 on her way to 24 points and seven rebounds. Smith's evening made it eight games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Jaycee Sigmon was another key player, putting up eight points and five rebounds.

Nitro's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for St. Agnes Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.
