Softball Recap: Central Takes a Loss

Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the La Joya Community Fighting Lobos, falling 19-1. The game marked the Bobcats' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Central saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jocelyn Flores, who went 2-for-3 with one double. Those two hits gave Flores a new career-high.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for La Joya Community, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central will challenge North at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. North has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.25 runs per game on average), something Central will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for La Joya Community, they will square off against Sierra Linda at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
