            Softball Preview: Pine Grove Panthers vs. Falkner Eagles        
        
		
        
        
            Pine Grove has gone  a perfect 10-0 against Falkner recently and they'll look to pad the win column further  on Thursday. The Panthers will look to defend their home field  against the Eagles  at 6:00  p.m. Pine Grove is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8  runs per game  this season.
Pine Grove barely beat Jumpertown the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers put the hurt on the Cardinals with a sharp  13-3 win on Tuesday. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive  victory against them.

 Memory Mauney made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out seven batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   eight  hits (and not a single walk). That's the most  strikeouts  she has posted since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in three of her five plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Anaston Christian was  incredible,  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances with three  runs, one  triple,  and one  RBI.  Reagan Childs was another key player,  going 1-for-3 with two  runs, one  triple,  and two  RBI.
 Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Falkner's offense. They lost  12-0 to Myrtle on Tuesday. The  defeat   continues a  trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Hawks: they've now lost eight in a row.
 Pine Grove's win bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Falkner, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12.
 Pine Grove beat Falkner 7-3  when the teams last played  two weeks ago. Do  the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
