George Rogers Clark came tearing into Sunday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 40.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Butler Lynx as they made off with a 61-41 win. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked fifth in Kentucky, while the Lynx are ranked 141st in Illinois), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Butler lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Xyanna Walton, who posted 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cyra Conwell, who put up 14 points.

George Rogers Clark's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Butler, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-9.

George Rogers Clark wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 79-23 win against Paris on the 24th. Butler has also already played their next game, a 96-35 victory against Kennedy on the 22nd.
