Basketball Recap: Iowa City Takes a Loss

Iowa City lost against Ankeny back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Iowa City Little Hawks had to suffer through a 79-48 loss at the hands of the Ankeny Hawks. While losing is never fun, the Little Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while the Hawks are ranked 40th).

Iowa City has also been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-23 record this season. As for Ankeny, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-9.

Coming up, Iowa City will welcome Jefferson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ankeny has already played their next game (against Liberty), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
