Football Recap: San Pedro Skates Past Narbonne with Ease

After losing to Narbonne the last time they met, San Pedro decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Pirates simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Gauchos 48-12. With the Pirates ahead 48-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

San Pedro was led to victory by Dylan Ashford and Seth Solorio. Ashford rushed for 96 yards and a pair of TDs on only seven carries, while Solorio threw for 223 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes. Solorio's passing game has become a key predictor of the Pirates' success: the team is 3-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 0-3 otherwise. Jaxon Brown made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

San Pedro's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-4. As for Narbonne, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. San Pedro will square off against Banning at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Narbonne, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Gardena at 7:30 p.m. on the 17th.
