Basketball Game Preview: Hunt Warriors vs. East Wake Warriors

Hunt is 2-8 against East Wake since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Hunt Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the East Wake Warriors at 7:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Hunt sitting on five straight victories and East Wake on nine.

On Friday, Hunt made easy work of Southern Wayne and carried off a 77-57 win. The Warriors pushed the score to 65-41 by the end of the third, a deficit the Saints cut but never quite recovered from.

Meanwhile, East Wake strolled past West Johnston with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 47-31. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 151st, while the Wildcats are ranked 428th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hunt has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for East Wake, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-7.

Hunt ended up a good deal behind East Wake when the teams last played back in January, losing 61-44. Can Hunt avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
