Volleyball Preview: Widefield Gladiators vs. Palmer Terrors

Widefield is 0-10 against Palmer since April of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Gladiators will head out to square off against the Terrors at 6:00 p.m.

Widefield came up short against Coronado on Thursday, falling 3-0.

Widefield was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Coronado work for it, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 28-26, 25-23.

Despite the defeat, Widefield saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Leila Brown had 14 assists and eight digs. Brown is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last nine games she's played.

Palmer had won three straight games and Hailey Tong did her part to make it four on Thursday. The Terrors came out on top against Mesa Ridge by a score of 3-1 thanks in part to Tong, who had 25 digs and two aces. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 10.6 digs per game.
