Volleyball Recap: Arlington Takes a Loss

Arlington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Hillcrest Trojans. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Trojans earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Hillcrest scored at least 20 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-21, 23-25, 25-21, 25-20.

Arlington's offense was headlined by Lizette Perez and Marissa Agacevic, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from Amelia Heydari and her 26 assists. She also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Zoe Dileo, each putting up three.

Arlington's defeat dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Hillcrest, the win snapped their losing streak at seven matches and leaves them with a 12-15 record.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Arlington is set to face off against their familiar foe Liberty at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Hillcrest will take on rival Paloma Valley at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
