Trico and Vienna are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Pioneers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Trico is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Trico made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Gibault Catholic, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Pioneers fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 6-4 on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Vienna played in-conference for the first time on Tuesday and got just the result they were looking for. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Trico 6-5. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Pioneers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Vienna's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Hayden Jones, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Those three hits gave Jones a new career-high. Grady Waters also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Vienna's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Trico, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.
