Basketball Recap: Northwest Christian Comes Up Short

Northwest Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 44-34 to the Arizona Lutheran Academy Coyotes. If the Crusaders were looking for revenge after losing 70-45 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Arizona Lutheran Academy was led to victory by Owen Beilke and Cash Hill. Beilke dropped a double-double on 15 points and 17 boards, while Hill went 6 of 12 on his way to 16 points. Beilke has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more blocks the last nine times he's played.

Northwest Christian's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Arizona Lutheran Academy, they pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Northwest Christian will host ALA - Ironwood at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. ALA - Ironwood is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.4 points per game this season. As for Arizona Lutheran Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Fountain Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Arizona Lutheran Academy also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 56.2 points per game.
