Softball Recap: Hobbs Sets Scoring Season-High Against Roswell

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hobbs). They came out on top against the Roswell Coyotes by a score of 18-13 on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Allison Garcia, who fired off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-5. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Edyth Chavez was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Hobbs lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Hobbs now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Roswell, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hobbs will take on Clovis at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a 15-game losing streak. As for Roswell, they will head out on the road to face off against Carlsbad at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cavemen/Cavegirls will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something the Coyotes surely won't give up without a fight.
