Baseball Game Preview: Plattsburg Tigers vs. Lathrop Mules

The Plattsburg Tigers are taking a road trip to challenge the Lathrop Mules at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Eight must be Plattsburg's lucky number: they beat King City with that score not once but twice on Tuesday. The Tigers beat the Wildkats by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 8-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

While Lathrop didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They skirted past Polo 3-1.

Lathrop is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Plattsburg, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.

Plattsburg was able to grind out a solid win over Lathrop in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, winning 11-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
