Basketball Recap: Pender Beats Winnebago for Their Third Straight Win

Pender extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping them up to 3-0. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 56-50 W against the Winnebago Indians. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Pendragons also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2024.

Pender's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryan Krueger, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 19 points and eight boards. The dominant performance also gave Krueger a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (50%). Another player making a difference was Trevor Trimble, who shot 60% from the field on his way to 15 points and seven rebounds.

Having lost for the first time this season, Winnebago fell to 2-1. The loss put an end to their undefeated start to the season.

Several Indians players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ashton LaPointe, who posted ten points. LaPointe is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Rahikim Free-Bass was another key player, putting up six points.

Looking ahead, Pender will take on Oakland-Craig on Friday. As for Winnebago, they will face off against Omaha Nation at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
