Recap: Antwerp Archers vs. Patrick Henry Patriots

There's no place like home for the Antwerp Archers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They were the clear victor by a 61-41 margin over Patrick Henry. Given Antwerp's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 173rd, while Patrick Henry is ranked 476th), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Antwerp got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Landon Brewer out in front who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. Brewer hasn't dropped below 15 points for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Zaine McMichael, who scored 16 points along with two steals.

Antwerp's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.4 points per game. As for Patrick Henry, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Antwerp and Ayersville will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Patrick Henry, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Woodward at 7:30 p.m.
