Soccer Game Preview: Rye vs. Lamar

Rye hasn't had much luck against Lamar recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Thunderbolts will be playing in front of their home fans against the Thunder at 5:30 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Rye is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game two weeks ago. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Mary's. The game was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Rye couldn't quite close it out.

Rye was without their leading scorer, Angelina Atencio, in Friday's match. With Atencio sidelined, Desiree Ruiz got her first action of the season.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Lamar was forced to settle for a draw. Neither they nor Guymon could gain the upper hand on Tuesday so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Lamar's draw makes their record 2-2-1 this season. As for Rye, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
