Alameda hadn't done well against Englewood recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Alameda walked away with a 2-0 victory over Englewood. This was a revenge game for Alameda: when they faced off against Englewood back in September, they had to take a 3-2 loss.

While Alameda might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Englewood scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-18.

Liliana Casias paced Alameda's offense, picking up six kills. Casias got some help from Valeria Marquez Munoz and her four assists. Marquez Munoz was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

The win made it two in a row for Alameda and bumps their season record up to 5-15. As for Englewood, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season.

Alameda wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Jefferson on the 25th. As for Englewood, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Sheridan on the 25th.
