Basketball Game Preview: Stone Mountain Pirates vs. North Clayton Eagles

Two dominant guards in Makayla Wilson and Kailee Wooten are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Stone Mountain Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the North Clayton Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Stone Mountain has struggled recently with nine losses in a row, while North Clayton will arrive with three straight wins.

Last Friday, Stone Mountain came up short against Riverdale and fell 43-32.

Wilson put forth a good effort for the losing side as she posted 25 points. That was a full 78.1% of Stone Mountain's points, marking the 12th time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Meanwhile, North Clayton didn't have too much trouble with Douglass on Saturday as they won 41-26.

Stone Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for North Clayton, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.

Stone Mountain was able to grind out a solid win over North Clayton in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 50-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Stone Mountain since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
