Basketball Recap: Cristo Rey Takes a Loss

Cristo Rey lost against Shekinah Christian back in December of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cristo Rey Cougar had to suffer through a 57-18 loss at the hands of the Shekinah Christian Flames. The Cougar were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-10.

Cristo Rey has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Shekinah Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cristo Rey will square off against Madison Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Shekinah Christian, they will face off against West Jefferson at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
