Baseball Recap: York Find Success

York proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 19) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Norris Titans, sneaking past 3-2. For the Dukes, this counts as revenge for the 7-2 victory the Titans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2025.

Jackson Rempel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits.

At the plate, York's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Carsen Pieper, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

York is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Norris, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-8.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. York will square off against rival Central City at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Norris is set to challenge their familiar foe Lincoln Southwest at 12:30 p.m. on Friday.
