Baseball Recap: Andover Huskies vs. Centennial Cougars

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Andover can now relate to. They fell just short of the Centennial Cougars by a score of 4-3 on Saturday. Andover was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Centennial apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May.

Brett Buettner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive pitching appearances.

At the plate, Caiden Belisle made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-3. Drew Law was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Even though they lost, Andover hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. This was only their first loss (out of three games) when they post two or more strikeouts.

Andover has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-9 record this season. As for Centennial, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-10.

As of now, neither Andover nor Centennial have any future games scheduled.
