Barrow had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on the Kotzebue Huskies with a sharp 3-0 win. The Whalers not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since September 21, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-19, 25-8.

Kotzebue's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Kotzebue didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Bethel on the 23rd. Hopefully Barrow paid attention to the Huskies' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Huskies at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
