Recap: Amistad Wolves vs. Haddam-Killingworth Cougars

The Amistad Wolves waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They skirted past Haddam-Killingworth 43-40. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Amistad has posted yet this season.

Amistad got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was LaShaya Patterson out in front who scored 17 points along with eight blocks and seven rebounds. Patterson is absolutely dominating the block category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Fatema Thomas, who scored 18 points along with eight steals and six rebounds.

Amistad's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-6. As for Haddam-Killingworth, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Amistad will head out on the road to take on Middletown at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Middletown presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Amistad in Connecticut (Middletown is ranked 31st, while Amistad is ranked 93rd). As for Haddam-Killingworth, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Hale Ray at 7:00 p.m.
