Baseball Recap: Castro Valley Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Castro Valley came tearing into Thursday's match with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Alameda Hornets, sneaking past 10-8. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-6 on Tuesday.

The team relied heavily on Anthony Mares, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Arthur Sims was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Castro Valley's record now sits at 19-5. As for Alameda, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season.

Castro Valley will square off against Berkeley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Alameda does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
