While Cumby's victory against Big Sandy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Trojans narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Wildcats 3-2. The victory was familiar territory for the Trojans, who have now won seven games in a row.

Jace Evans spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up 16 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Channing Herman was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Osvaldo Ruiz, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Cumby's record is now 8-14-1. As for Big Sandy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.
