Willow Spring lost a heartbreaker the last time they played South Garner, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's game. Willow Spring never let South Garner get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Storm sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.

Luke Doreauk looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, Willow Spring let Jace Cargile and Ben Cannaday run wild. Cargile scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2, while Cannaday scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. What's more, Cannaday posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Tommy Collins, who scored a run and stole a base.

Willow Spring's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-3. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 8.8 hits in those games compared to only 4.8 in the others. As for South Garner, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Willow Spring will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Cleveland at 7:00 p.m. on April 8. As for South Garner, they will venture away from home to take on Panther Creek at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
