Softball Recap: The First Academy's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

It was a good run, but The First Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 10-5 to the Geneva Knights. The Royals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2019.

Abby Bonnett was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

The First Academy now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Geneva, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, The First Academy will face off against Lyman at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Royals are facing the Greyhounds at the right time seeing as the Greyhounds are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Geneva, they will take on Morningside Academy in a tournament on Friday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight.
