Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Foothill Tech

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Foothill Tech had no problem doing just that on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the South El Monte Eagles 3-1. Winning may never get old, but the Dragons sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Shane White was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

White wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Gomez, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Foothill Tech's record now sits at 15-13. As for South El Monte, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-8.

Looking ahead, Foothill Tech will venture away from home to take on Estancia at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Dragons will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. South El Monte does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
