Softball Game Preview: Union Preparatory Polar Bears vs. Greater Cabarrus S Stallions

The Union Preparatory Polar Bears are taking a road trip to take on the Greater Cabarrus S Stallions at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Greater Cabarrus S took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Union Preparatory, who comes in off a win.

Union Preparatory can't be too worried about heading out to take on Greater Cabarrus S: they just beat Queen's Grant at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Polar Bears blew past the Stallions 17-2 on April 9th. 17 seems to be a good number for the Polar Bears as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Meanwhile, Greater Cabarrus S suffered their biggest loss since March 26th on Monday. They came up short against SouthLake Christian Academy, falling 19-3.

Eden Kluttz was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with four stolen bases and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

The victory made it two in a row for Union Preparatory and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for Greater Cabarrus S, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-11.

Union Preparatory couldn't quite finish off Greater Cabarrus S when the teams last played on April 1st and fell 7-5. Can the Polar Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
